August 2025 Update

Family

Marcus and Chloe are back in Australia, settling into life. Marcus just turned one, and it's wild watching him figure things out. He's reaching for stuff and shouts a determined "gah!"—like he's playing some kind of toddler first person adventure game where "E" is the universal interact button. Chloe's holding things down as a stay-at-home mum, doing an amazing job keeping up with him.

We had a bit of a scare when Marcus caught the flu this month. Nothing too serious, but enough to remind me—next year, we're all getting vaccinated. No exceptions.

Work

Big things might finally be happening on the career front. After years in customer support, there's a real chance I can move on to something new. Not counting my chickens yet, though—gotta make sure I put in the work to actually make it happen. That means sharpening some skills, wrapping up loose ends, and making sure the support role is in good hands before (hopefully) passing the torch.

Fingers crossed, but I'm not leaving it to chance.
